Abdurrahman Muhammad Tanko is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Procurement and Supply Chain Management at Kaduna State University, holding staff number KASU/SP/1541. Born on January 19, 1997, in Kaduna, Nigeria, he hails from Kaduna North Local Government Area. Tanko, a Nigerian national, is fluent in English, Hausa, and Arabic.

Tanko’s educational journey is marked by excellence, including a BSc in Business Management from the University of Bolton, Kaduna State, and dual Master’s degrees—one in International Business Management with Finance from Heriot-Watt University, Dubai, and the other in Global Logistics and Supply Chain from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. Currently, he is pursuing two PhDs simultaneously, one in Logistics and Procurement from the University of Strathcycle, UK, and another in Business Management from Kaduna State University.

With a diverse professional background, Tanko has served as an intern at various institutions, including Open University of Nigeria, Ramjat Aviation Support, and Rahza FZE, Dubai. His expertise spans areas such as acquisition, IT, and logistics management, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Tanko’s teaching experience is extensive, covering a range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His dedication to education and research underscores his role as a valuable asset to Kaduna State University’s academic community.

Role and Responsibilities

The Planning and Research Unit Head at the Centre for Procurement, Logistics, Supply, and Chain Management is crucial for strategic planning and research. Responsibilities include strategic planning, research management, data analysis, policy development, collaboration, team leadership, and reporting. Qualifications include an advanced degree, expertise in strategic planning and research management, strong knowledge of procurement, logistics, and supply chain management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with relevant software tools. This role is pivotal in driving innovation and excellence in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management.
