Mrs. Safiyya Abubakar Yahya, known as Safiyya, is a seasoned professional in the field of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, currently serving as a Lecturer II at Kaduna State University (KASU). Born on July 11th, 1983, in Kaduna, Nigeria, she holds a diverse educational background, including a BSc from the European University College of Brussels (Dubai) and an MSc from Heriot Watt University (Dubai). Safiyya’s commitment to continuous learning is evident through her various certifications, including the International Computer Drivers Licences (ICDL) and the Sustainable Procurement, Environment, and Social Standards Enhancement Project (SPESSE) certification.

With over a decade of experience, Safiyya has held positions in academia, including as a Part-Time Lecturer at KASU and a Tutor at Corinthians International School. Her expertise extends to training and facilitation, as demonstrated by her role as a Trainer at the Sustainable Procurement, Environment, and Social Standards Center of Excellence (SPESSCE) at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. At KASU, she serves as Collaboration Lead for the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department and Unit Head for Marketing and Linkages at the Center for Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

Role and Responsibilities

As the Head of Unit for Linkages and Marketing at the Center for Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management, Safiyya Abubakar Yahya oversees strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, marketing and promotion, student recruitment and retention, industry collaboration, and performance monitoring. She develops strategies to enhance the center’s visibility and reputation, engages with stakeholders to foster partnerships, leads marketing efforts to promote programs and research activities, attracts students through recruitment initiatives, facilitates collaboration with industry partners, and monitors performance metrics to inform decision-making and enhance impact.
